President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran would stop attacks on neighbouring Gulf states that have targeted infrastructure and civilian sites.
The United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia all reported coming under drone and missile attacks on Friday.
Pezeshkian, who apologised for the strikes, added: “There will be no further attacks or missile launches towards neighbouring countries, unless attacks against Iran originate from those countries.”
“We have no intention of aggression” against neighbouring states, he said on Saturday, addressing them as “our brothers”.
Pezeshkian also rejected Donald Trump’s demand to surrender. “They will carry the wish of our unconditional surrender to their graves,” he said.
